‘A thrilling recording of Bach’s second Partita…British pianist Yasmin Rowe has a keen sense of line and voicing, particularly in the final movement Capriccio’ – BBC Editor, BBC Music Magazine
British concert pianist Yasmin Rowe was the first prize winner at the Moray International Piano Competition (UK) and the EPTA UK Piano Competition (UK), as well Seven Oaks Young Musician of the Year Competition (UK) and the Antena 2 Competition (Portugal). Her first CD was released in 2016 with British label Willowhayne Records, and was quickly picked up by British Airways for their in-flight entertainment system. It was praised by eminent pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet for its authenticity, love and inspired playing. The CD was also BBC Music Magazine Editor Oliver Condy’s favourite in the September 2016 edition.
Yasmin’s second CD, “Y2” was released in 2017 worldwide with her cellist Yelian He – it too was picked up by British Airways. She has appeared in many world class venues including Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Shanghai Concert Hall, Wuxi Grand Theatre, Beijing Forbidden City Concert Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, and Festivals such as the Edinburgh Fringe and Brighton Festival. She has performed numerous piano concertos with orchestra including Shostakovich 2nd, Beethoven Emperor, Beethoven 4th, the Schumann Piano Concerto at a sold-out Chichester Cathedral and Mozart’s Piano Concerto K271 with the Manchester Camerata Orchestra. Yasmin recently performed the Mozart K141 concerto with Pro Musica Orchestra as part of the Scotch College Piano Festival and was delighted to adjudicate the semi-final and final rounds of the festival’s piano competition.
Yasmin is active as a chamber musician, and is a member of ‘Collide’, an exciting new Saxophone trio with Joseph Lallo and Yelian He, as well as ‘Rock Paper Scissors’, a piano trio with renowned violinist Wilma Smith. Yasmin has gained an International Artist Diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music (UK).
