EG Recommends Wendy Saddington

NOT enough Australians know that in Wendy Saddington we had our own Janis Joplin: a passionate, larger-than-life but ultimately fragile blues singer in a rock’n’roll world. A one-time member of Chain, Saddington was inspired by Nina Simone, Bessie Smith, Aretha Franklin and Bob Dylan. She survived her ’70s heyday, which is captured with riveting effect on 1971 double live album Wendy Saddington & Copperwine. She will perform tracks from her 45-year career.
