The COVID pandemic continues to be a difficult time for the arts, and it is in times like these that we turn to art more than ever. While we grapple with extended lockdowns around Australia, artists continue to find new ways to explore, create, and engage.
fortyfivedownstairs remains closed on Flinders Lane, but we’re pleased to be open online with a continuation of our exhibition series Fragments, with a new group exhibition.
Almost a year to date since launching our inaugural online group exhibition HERE, we return to the online format with HERE again. Because, well, here we are again! The exhibition brings together artists from the fortyfivedownstairs community, many who have had exhibitions affected by Melbourne’s six lockdowns to date. This is a chance to experience new work created in these challenging times, as well as sneak peeks into forthcoming exhibitions.
