The One
‘keen, savage and funny’
‘Kaczmarek is brilliant…. Prendergast is beautifully restrained…. Tomlins’ nervous energy is completely captivating’
High praise for all three performers from Byron Bache of the Herald Sun.
One couple. One night. No rules.
The One is a darkly hilarious new work about a couple trapped in a violent and destructive cycle of co-dependant love and lust. Premiering in 2014 to rave reviews at the Soho Theatre in London, this “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” for the digital generation is 65 intense minutes of sex, violence, and snack food, which brutally asks: “In the warfare of modern relationships, what are the rules of engagement?”
Written by London’s most exciting new voice, Vicky Jones, in an Australian Premiere directed by Tanya Dickson with text re-imagined for Australian audiences.
The One stars Wentworth’s Kasia Kaczmarek, Red Stitch ensemble member Ben Prendergast and Elbow Room’s Emily Tomlins
