Julie Poulsen

NORTH excerpts and essays meander the wide-ranging north Queensland landscape from Julie Poulsen’s home town of Cairns to the Atherton Tablelands onto Cooktown via the Savannah Way. The interpreted views are mixed elucidations: a broad perspective of the far north Queensland landscape.

These works are often viewed flattened and aerial to allow room for intrinsic local details. Here and there is the cat, the goat, the llama, the horse, the letter box, the mailman, the plumber, the peacock, the chook – all part of the local landscape and its ever revolving story.
