Flesh and Bone

KAGE presents the world premiere of Flesh and Bone in March 2013, a bold new work exploring the construction of attraction and our primal need to be connected. This work sees KAGE co-founders Kate Denborough and Gerard Van Dyck return to the stage, performing together for the first time in eight years.

Flesh and Bone explores and blurs traditional gender roles – with the change of costumes, so customs change – physical roles mixing and reversing. What’s left is essence: instinctive masculinity and femininity rendered in shape, movement and contrast. Kate Denborough says “Flesh and Bone pays tribute to our 20 year creative relationship and revisits some of our earliest ideas. The interchange between male and female and the power of illusion have always fascinated us.”

This performance is presented as part of the 2013 L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Cultural Program.

Thursday 14 March show includes a post show Q&A session hosted by Clementine Ford.

Saturday 9 March is a special Gala event starting at 6:30pm and is a  Melbourne Food and Wine Festival umbrella event with an unseated, light pre-performance dinner catered by CUMULUS INC.

There will be no performance on Sunday 10 March.
