The fierce individualism these three artists have demonstrated over the decades comes together in this show… 150 years of shared experiences.
A friendship spanning almost 50 years. Growing up in the same neighbourhood. Studied at three different art schools. Founding members of the legendary and original alternative band Rock Granite and the Profiles.
These three have at last agreed to exhibit their work in the same place at the same time. And it’s big.
The fierce individualism these three artists have demonstrated over the decades comes together in this show. A display of mutual respect and affection for each other’s work is evident. Such disparate approaches come together in WHAT JUST HAPPENED.
150 years of shared experiences.
Ben Fennessy
“I’ve been painting for 50 years; think I’m getting the hang of it.”
Born in Melbourne. At fourteen, Ben took art lessons from Bill Coleman – George Bell Art School. He won a scholarship to study painting and drawing at the National Gallery Art School. Ben has lived, painted and taught art in Western Victoria for 40 years.
William White
After more than 30 years in advertising studios of major agencies, William White has been liberated.
William is no longer tied to the ‘Client Brief’. He now allows himself the freedom to interpret and transform mundane objects and events into pieces that display his unique humour and gravitas in equal measure.
Peter Ivor Wilson
A Duchampian sensibility executed with gestural muscularity.
Peter has not deviated from his chosen artistic path in close to 50 years, constantly developing and refining his work. These works are a manifestation of all that has gone before, and a kernel of what is to come. Peter has exhibited extensively over the years and taken part in many group and solo shows, and is represented in many private collections.
