The Meraki Project is a musical gathering: it is an act of coming together and celebrating the musical intersections of the Balkans and East Mediterranean.

For one night only, two of Melbourne’s dynamic and unique ensembles, the haBiBis (Greek and music of Asia Minor) and SARAY Iluminado (Bosnian, Herzegovinian and Sephardic Jewish music) unite and take the audience on the musical pilgrimage from Sarajevo and Mostar to Salonica and Athens.

The theatre transforms into a Balkan tavern that resonates with songs about love, loss, hope and despair. The line up is an exciting and eclectic group of musicians  including  Nela Trifkovic, Irine Vela, Ernie Gruner, Mulaim Vela, Achilles Yiangoulli, Kelly Dowall and Dan Witton.
