Poet Tree is a collection of drawings that pause in places of wonder. Chloe makes intimate drawings on plywood and paper of people, moments, animals, trees and waterways. Each drawing is made as a response to a long loving look, listening to life sing. Working with colour pencils, Chloe is drawn to a space between the branches, upon the stones, the hum of footsteps, the feeling of being here, witness to all this beauty, this everyday magic. Chloe’s drawings offer a place to dream, to wander, to reflect, to see and to see again, to change perspective. ‘We are all listening to the river,’ words handwritten in Chloe’s studio, spoken by a friend that inspires her heart. Drawing, for Chloe, is a practice of being moved by the wild possibilities of friendship, walking and poet tree.
