fortyfivedownstairs and Future Leaders present the second annual Emerging Artist Award 2016.

A dynamic showcase of groundbreaking new works, the Emerging Artist Award 2016 brings together a selection of work from the best emerging Australian artists for a two week exhibition at fortyfivedownstairs.

The Award provides a platform for emerging visual artists to exhibit their work in an environment that values and rewards originality in the visual arts. With $3000 of prize money on offer, guest judge Associate Professor Alison Inglis will select two submissions that best demonstrate originality and innovation.

At fortyfivedownstairs we showcase independent, experimental and thought-provoking visual art. The Emerging Artist Award 2016 is an opportunity to examine emergent trends in the contemporary art scene whilst allowing young artists to gain exposure in a professional setting and kick-start their careers.
