“Wild, political, beautiful and weird!”
The Feminista Supernovas of Retro Futurismus are back, conjuring grand visions out of two-dollar-shop bling and obsolete technology. Anna Lumb, Anni and Maude Davey and Teresa Blake take variety to a neo-high, combining incendiary circus, demented dance, post-human posturing and prophetical idiocy. In their brand new Brave World they fire off the arrow of time, taking reality and making it realer, spinning lies to tell the truth.
Special Guests:
4 – 8 July

Betty Grumble
Surreal Showgirl, Obscene Beauty Queen, Feminist Contagion & Sex Clown. A maniacal Feminist contagion and ecosexual, her award winning work has been critically lauded across the board. From the polished stages of Belvoir St Theatre and Sydney Opera House, to the swampy dens of Sydney’s Queer Underground, the reception of her relentless persona is unanimous – BETTY GRUMBLE is WOMAN.
Created and Performed by: Anni and Maude Davey, Anna Lumb, and Teresa Blake
Retro Futurismus came together as an act of resistance and renewal, pioneering a new vaudeville that was responsive to current political events and philosophical ideas. Their first show, Retro Futurismus, was presented in Melbourne in 2015, and subsequently at Brisbane’s Wonderland Festival. Retro Futurismus: New World, premiered in 2016 gaining 5 Green Room Award nominations, & invitations to the Sydney Festival 2017, the Darwin Festival 2017, and the WA Circus Festival 2018.
