The work moves between the surreal and absurd exploring universal human themes of memory and dreams\, their fragility\, transience and power. Like a dream itself\, White Day Dream recalls subconscious emotions\, where things are at once unexpectedly linked and disconnected. \n\n\n\n\n\nWeave Movement Theatre is an ambitious and diverse Melbourne-based hybrid dance and theatre performance company\, comprised of people with and without disabilities. The company formed in 1997 through an Arts Access Victoria project and continues today developing high quality performances. Weave Movement Theatre’s work subverts audience’s expectations\, and challenges conventional ways of seeing dance and disability. They present a distinctive and progressive model for inclusive dance performance. \n…wildly surreal visual theatre…. Killer clowns dissect concepts of individuality and difference as they search for the one victim that has eluded them. \nSet in an rickety abattoir-shack\, the Pigs are working hard on their latest obsession\, to rid the world of every last red nose clown. \nSpine tingling original theatre that is hilariously dark and frighteningly funny. \nJoin this underground clown cult that audiences have been raving about. \n“The Long Pigs is juvenile\, blasphemous and almost completely inexplicable. But it is probably the most engrossing and satisfying work of physical theatre I’ve seen in the better part of a decade: strange and terrific indeed”. The Australian \n“The Long Pigs is a dirty little masterpiece\, and it’ll change the way you think about clowning. It might even go some of the way to curing your fears.” Herald Sun \n  \nThe Long Pigs was performed at fortyfivedownstairs in 2014[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Cast and Creatives” tab_id=”1452941644640-19a0de81-e87a0201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c51f1f-8993a3c4-5ca5cb85-3d54189f-4d6f8ba6-b9f173cc-a3a6″][vc_column_text color=”#000000″]Devisors/Creators/Performers: Clare Bartholomew\, Derek Ives-Plunkett\, Nicci Wilks \nDevisor/Director: Susie Dee \nSet Design: Anna Tregloan \nSound Design: Jethro Woodward \nLighting Design: Andy Turner[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Ticket Prices and Concessions” tab_id=”1452941768731-94b426f3-57530201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c51f1f-8993a3c4-5ca5cb85-3d54189f-4d6f8ba6-b9f173cc-a3a6″][vc_column_text]\nTicket Prices:\n  \nwatch at home: $20 \n  \nNO BOOKING FEE SURCHARGE[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs]watch at home [vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]

A former Minister in the Hawke Government\, his interests are extraordinarily wide ranging\, and his deep love and encyclopaedic knowledge of poetry and music inspired us to hold a birthday celebration almost a decade ago. It was so enjoyable we’ve been doing it ever since. \nLast year we were devastated when it appeared impossible to hold the celebration due to the lockdown but streaming came to the rescue\, and instead of selling out all 120 seats\, the virtual audience numbers were estimated at more than 400 friends and admirers. \nThis year the breadth of his interests and friendships will be reflected in another fascinating online celebration with appearances from actor Jillian Murray to former PM Malcolm Turnbull\, cellist Zoe Knighton to Nobel laureate Peter Doherty and many more. \nPour a glass of something you enjoy\, cut a slice of cake\, and settle back to enjoy a unique event\, Barry Jones’ 89th birthday![/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Event Access Details” tab_id=”1452941644640-19a0de81-e87a0201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c51f1f-8993a3c4-5ca5cb85-3d54189f-4d6f8ba6-b9f151c9-0972″][vc_column_text]Your link to join the live Zoom broadcast will be sent via email from 24 hours before the start time of the event. These three worlds collide in the new work Voyage by Helen Begley with a story that emerged from the work of Australian historian\, Dr Liz Rushen. \nIn the midst of convict ships arriving each week from Britain\, a different cargo leaves for Australia. On board are 287 immigrant women enticed by promises of a better life.
