fortyfivedownstairs comprises two elegant gallery spaces.

The large gallery is a generous, open-plan space that provides a flexible blank canvas for exhibitions, with two structural pillars positioned centrally within the room. The small gallery is also open plan, with a single central pillar. Both galleries feature white-painted brick and plasterboard walls, white pressed-metal ceilings, and hardwood floors with a waxed finish.

We offer exhibition periods of either two or four weeks and select exhibitions through a proposal-based curatorial process.

Our exhibition calendar is programmed on a rolling basis, so we recommend applying early if you have preferred exhibition dates in mind. All proposals are considered through our curatorial selection process, with programming decisions based on the strength of the proposal and its fit within our annual exhibition program.
