handcrafted ceramic stoneware, oxides, slips, glazes
35cmH x 31cmW x 8cmD
This work is one in a series where I explore the rhythms of life experienced from my doorstep. The limitations of lockdowns intensified my search for meaning and inspiration for my work. Oddly, I came to find expansive possibilities in restriction. Including the potential in the intricacies of what is close, of impermanence and the everyday shifts of life. As access to materials is limited during lockdown, my making process has had to adapt too. My recent work is made of recycled clay from remnants and a combination of leftover glazes. An unexpected and delightful result, and a fresh path forward in expression was achieved from the recent challenges to my practice.
