The Max captures a happier time in Melbourne when self-confidence was flowering. We believed we had attained a certain level sophistication and maturity and certainly we had. A pandemic might dampen our spirits in the short term, but not in the long run. The Max still represents my perspective on the Melbourne that will one day return – and yes, of course, with changes – but nevertheless, return. From a place near where I live and work, ultimately reflecting a self-confidence and optimism for the future.
