It is interesting to shoot photographs in this polluted wedge of Melbourne bounded by Tottenham, Yarraville, Spotswood and the West Gate Freeway. Brooklyn is a home to many industries, namely quarries, wool stores, meatworks, transport, motor wreckers and foundries that keep on keeping on, all tucked away over the “back fence” of pretty Melbourne. This metal dealer has since disappeared along with the other curious sites but the pollution hangs on. I guess a green broom will one day sweep away this detritus but for now, it remains.
