This monotype was created using a lawn roller turned printing press, in a make-shift outdoor studio, during the first COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Away from my studio, I had to find a way to create my artwork and stay motivated during a very stressful and unsettling time. The feather is symbolic to me of freedom as well as inspiration. It has spiritual significance and represents inner strength, new beginnings and rebirth. Often people who find feathers in their path see it as a magical moment. I wanted the feather to be the first image I created in my new normal.
