This recital was the third in a series of five recitals curated by Coady Green at fortyfivedownstairs\, which featured some of Melbourne’s brightest stars of classical and contemporary performance including Collide\, Solstice Trio\, Duo Eclettico\, Coady Green and Christopher Smith. \nThe members of Rathdowne Quartet were first drawn to each other out of a mutual interest for discovering music they believe to be of equal relevance and cultural value as the great pre-20th Century quartets. \nCircumstance finally brought them all to Melbourne\, and an ensemble dedicated to bringing newfangled energies to the great quartets was born\, as well as an enthusiasm for the championing and commissioning of new contemporary works. In this concert\, they are joined by virtuoso pianist Tamara Smolyar for one of Shostakovich’s best known chamber works\, the G minor Piano Quintet.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Program” tab_id=”1628658542807-940071e6-1de1″][vc_column_text]Schumann\nString Quartet Opus 41 No. 3 \nShostakovich\nPiano Quintet in G minor Opus 57[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Ticket Prices and Concessions” tab_id=”1452941768731-94b426f3-57530201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c51f1f-8993a3c4-5ca5cb85-3d54189f-4d6f8ba6-b9f1357d-2aab”][vc_column_text]\nTicket Prices:\nWatch at home: $15 \n  \nNO BOOKING FEE SURCHARGE[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][vc_empty_space]book to watch at home [/vc_column][/vc_row]
