Shortlisted for the 2018 Max Afford Award\, this vital new Australian work will now undergo a week-long creative development right here at fortyfivedownstairs\, culminating in two nights of free staged readings. Performed by a dynamite ensemble of some of Australia’s best young actors\, each performance will be followed by Q&A and feedback sessions. \nA booming regional factory town\, a beach you can’t swim at\, and the third worst school in the state. Five angry voices and one disillusioned teacher – each ringing with the rebellious grunge of the mid 90s – scream hopelessly against a vast\, unseen power. \nThe third collaboration between multi-award winners Lab Kelpie and Katy Warner (A Prudent Man\, Spencer)\, Refined is a raw\, funny and in-your-face look into adolescence\, broken dreams – and what happens to people when the economic lifeline of a town begins to fade. \nFREE EVENT – bookings essential \nSupported by the City of Melbourne Arts Grants Program.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Cast and Creatives” tab_id=”1452941644640-19a0de81-e87a0201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c51f1f-8993a3c4-5ca5cb85-3d54189f-4d6f8ba6-b9f1ca43-2305″][vc_column_text]Director: Lyall Brooks \nAssistant Director: Rosa Campagnaro \nSound Design and Compositions: Darius Kedros \nDramaturg: Sharon Davis \nProducers: Adam Fawcett & Lauren Bennett \nCast: Darcy Bryce\, Julia Grace\, Elmira Jurik\, Chanella Macri\, Ebony McGuire\, & Eddie Orton[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][vc_empty_space]buy tickets [/vc_column][/vc_row]
