Probably best known for his opium induced\, epic ‘program’ symphony\, the Symphonie Fantastique. Conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein said of the work: ‘Berlioz tells it like it is – you take a trip\, you wind up screaming at your own funeral’. \nBerlioz’s songs are no less evocative\, provoking\, haunting and yet charming. Fantastique! The Life and Loves of Hector Berlioz uses journal entries\, letters and articles from Berlioz’s life and from the perspective of his second wife\, the opera singer Marie Recio\, combined with a selection of his songs\, and transcriptions of his orchestral works by Franz LIszt and Sigsimund Thalberg. \nWith mezzo-soprano Karen van Spall\, baritone Adam Miller\, pianist Coady Green\, and actor Melanie Hillman. \nCLICK HERE for program notes and translations[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Ticket Prices and Concessions” tab_id=”1452941768731-94b426f3-57530201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c51f1f-8993a3c4-5ca5cb85-3d54189f-4d6f8ba6-b9f1da1f-2093″][vc_column_text]\nTICKET PRICES:\nBe part of the limited live audience at the venue: $40\nFull price: $40 Music Students/Seniors: $25\nLivestream at home: $25 (Wednesday 14 July 7.30pm AEST) \n  \nNO BOOKING FEE SURCHARGE[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Live Zoom Broadcast” tab_id=”1617940828721-e5ccdbeb-a084″][vc_column_text]Recording\nIf you are unable to tune into the performance on the night\, please email us at communications@fortyfivedownstairs.com to let us know.
