Intertwining different delivery techniques such as reading\, mono-drama and performance art\, they   create a one-man-show that underlines the vanity and hopelessness of young Werther. \nPhilipp Hochmair begins reading directly out of Goethe’s epistolary novel and delves into Werther’s state of mind in front of a camera. A young man who has moved away from home for the first time becomes engrossed in an impossible love story and revels in recording his feelings. His video projections become an example of the vanity that entraps him. An inside look at an unhappy soul and the mechanism of self-destruction. An invitation to the most famous ego trip in all of German literature. \nSince 1997\, Werther! has toured the world and been presented using different stage setups. Among the productions\, it was shown at the Berliner Ensemble\, the theatre festival in Bogota and Cuba\, as well as new theatre spaces like thermal baths or classrooms. \n“A magic moment with a star\, Philipp Hochmair\, an exceptional talent”  Neue Zuricher Zeitung \n “Watching it provides an hour of pure enjoyment”   Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung \nAn Australian premiere production. \nPerformed in German and English with English subtitles.\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Cast and Creatives” tab_id=”1452941644640-19a0de81-e87a0201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c5116e-67a4″][vc_column_text]Philipp Hochmair is one of the most prominent actors in the German speaking theatre- and filmscene. He studied at Max-Reinhardt-Seminar in Vienna\, followed by an engagement at the Wiener Burgtheater and Thalia Theater in Hamburg. In the piece Werther! he demonstrates anew his faboulous acting skills and mimes the protagonist in a refreshingly approachable and modern way. \nNicolas Stemann has set in scene numerous pieces on the stages of major theaters. Three of his productions (Hamlet in 2002\, Das Werk in 2004 and Ulrike Maria Stuart in 2007) were already invited to the yearly Theatertreffen Berlin.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Ticket Prices and Concessions” tab_id=”1452941768731-94b426f3-57530201-342dcb0a-2ec9a177-581a2513-a5c5116e-67a4″][vc_column_text]\nTicket Prices:\nFull: $35\,\nConcession: $30\, \nNO BOOKING FEE SURCHARGE \nConcessions:\nPensioners/Full-time students/MEAA members[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][vc_empty_space]Buy Tickets [/vc_column][/vc_row]
