The inspiration for his current body of work emerges from time spent observing the ever-changing\, dramatic landscapes of the Mutawintji National Park. \nOf his practice David Hirst writes “Art attempts to trap an emotion or a memory so the feeling can be shared with others. My practice explores emotional events that I experienced during my travels in life and as a research scientist. I seek the parallels between both fields\, ultimately striving to present an observation for contemplation.” \nThe success of Hirst’s career as a research scientist was spurred on by his active\, hands-on experimental work\, and this approach is clearly evident in his approach to art-making which demonstrates a vibrant and dynamic quality.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row]
