The Brahms Cello Sonata is a much loved work however\, be taken on a journey with the hidden gem of Onslow’s Cello Sonata and a transcription of Schubert’s song cycle.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Program” tab_id=”1471924467628-9ac9fd2b-90b4″][vc_column_text]Onslow Cello Sonata\, Op. 16\, No. 3 in A Major \nBrahms Cello Sonata No. 1 in E Minor\, Op. 38 \n     -Interval- \nSchubert Schwanengesang D. 957 [/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Bios” tab_id=”1471998734142-c0b90058-b748″][vc_column_text]\nChris Howlett\nChris Howlett is a cellist\, festival director and producer.  He studied cello in Vienna with Howard Penny\, London with Richard Lester and at the Australian National Academy of Music where he completed his studies in 2009. \nChris has been described as “…one of Australia’s finest emerging talents” and has been a finalist and prize winner at a number of chamber music competitions including the prestigious Trio di Trieste International Competition.   As a chamber musician he holds one of the busiest schedules in Melbourne performing regularly in Festivals\, throughout Asia and with Melbourne Piano Trio with over 50 recitals a year.   Chris has also performed concerti with both symphonic and chamber orchestras in Milan\, Rome\, Paris\, Estonia and Melbourne. \nHe has recently just completed a 15 concert recital tour of China\, performing to over 25\,000 people in 3 weeks.  Future plans see recitals at Melbourne Recital Centre\, 45 downstairs and Music in the Round. \nChris is Festival Director of the Sanguine Estate Music Festival which has now established as one of Australia’s leading chamber music festivals\, is held over two weekends in Bendigo and Heathcote.
