…one thing remains constant: the beauty that exists beyond our intentions and plans…

Chrysalis by Dawn Allmark

This collection of paintings have been thoughtfully created by delving into the realms of transformation.

By using a personal perspective and reaching back into the past, I’ve been able to reflect deeply on some of my own memories. This insight has conjured a plethora of images for me, some joyful and others more painful where I’ve been pushed to the brink of darkness.

These lessons have shaped who I am today and I am grateful for them as they have led me on a path of self discovery and awareness through the art of meditation.

This stillness has provided me with clarity, and has brought me a new perspective that has allowed me to grow and evolve as a human being.

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

Aberrations by Michaela Sandberg

In an age ruled by screens, where perfection can be attained through pixels, Aberrations seeks beauty in error and the unexpected.

Through a process of digital exploration, these photographs dissolve into artifacts of technological infancy. Here, software is utilized not as a means to perfection, but as a medium that speaks its own visual language. A language that risks extinction as technology hurdles toward idealised uniformity.

An aberration is a deviation. Within these deviations, there is an invitation to welcome what was not planned for. Each image is a negotiation between control and surrender, between the software’s pursuit of perfection and the artist’s embrace of imperfection. Aberrations critiques our desire to correct, enhance, and manipulate, and serves as a reminder that, in the midst of rapid technological evolution, one thing remains constant: the beauty that exists beyond our intentions and plans.
