if you are feeling unwell, please stay home
Do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been a close contact of a confirmed case in the past 14 days. Click here for our refunds and exchange policy. If you begin to feel unwell during an event, contact a fortyfivedownstairs staff member immediately and in the instance of a positive COVID-19 case, contact the venue on 03 9662 9966.

use the hand sanitiser provided
We have hand sanitiser available at all entrances, exits and toilets throughout the venue – please lather up and remember to wash your hands regularly.

wear a mask and find a seat if you are grabbing a drink or snack
The wearing of masks is mandatory throughout the gallery and theatre unless you have a legitimate medical reason. You can remove your mask when drinking or eating in one of the designated seating areas.

before a performance
To manage queues, we’ve turned our gallery into our theatre foyer so you can enjoy the artwork and have a drink before the show. Drinks will not be permitted in the theatre. We’ve also extended the length of our intervals to assist with those pesky queues for the toilet and bar. If you’re likely to get a bit parched during your visit, please bring your own pre-filled water bottle.

physical distancing
Please socially distance from people wherever possible and adhere to the distancing guidelines of the event.

group bookings
If you’re planning on attending the theatre with your friends, please consider booking your tickets together – some events have a discounted ticket price for groups booked in one transaction so you can save some $$. Alternatively, please let us know as soon as possible that you’d like to sit together. Each pre-booked group will be seated together, unless otherwise specified, and will be spaced from other groups.

School and tour groups to the gallery are limited to a maximum of 20 people.

exiting the theatre
To avoid congestion on the stairwell, all patrons will be asked to exit the theatre via our ground floor, Spark Lane exit. Our staff will be there to guide you.
